Iran So Far Andy Samberg skewers Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in this tender SNL Digital Short. Money shot: “You say there’s no gays in Iran, but you’re in New York now, baby.”
UPDATE: Those masters of digital distribution at NBC removed their own YouTube video. Nice work fellas. Updated the link; we’ll see how long that one lasts.
Mac market share on the rise in higher education While it’s a small sample, this reflects what I see every day: people of my generation—students and young professionals—are switching to the Mac in droves. The iPod “halo effect” is in full swing among this important customer segment.
By a vote of 69–39, the Matthew Shepard Act passes in the U.S. Senate. Our most famous gay totally-not-gay senator, Larry Craig, voted nay. Bad karma, Larry.
Letterman learns about A Bear’s Life On The Late Show tonight, Kevin Smith talked about his recent cover shoot for A Bear’s Life, a periodical for gay men “celebrating the masculine community.” The interview was hilarious, particularly watching Letterman try in vain to steer the conversation away from the bear community—a topic I never imagined seeing discused on network TV. And Smith worked in the term “chubby chaser” at the last second, praise be. He’s really making the most out of his new status as an honorary bear.

“We further challenge the media to cover this affront to Christianity with the same vigor as recent stories about cartoon depictions of Mohammed and other items offensive to the Muslim community.”
With regard to the Mohammed cartoons, wasn’t it the general consensus that the religious fundamentalists were clearly wrong for attempting to impinge upon the free speech of the editorial cartoonists? That’s what the CWA wants to align themselves with?
$9.11 for Rudolph Giuliani Gee, I wonder why people say Republicans have no tact?
Nicole Kelsay is the last to be sentenced for her role in the murder of Scotty Joe Weaver. Like Robert Porter, Kelsay will be eligible for parole in just a few years. While this ordeal will never be over for Scotty Joe’s mother Martha and his brother Lum, after three long years, now that all three of his killers have been convicted, hopefully their family can find some sort of peace.
The Vonage V-Phone Launch Party. This is the lamest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. WTF are the Sarsgaards doing there?
