AOL Radio for iPhone is quickly becoming one of my favorite new apps. I didn’t see the use for it until driving home tonight from a friend’s house. We’re limited in the number and quality of public radio stations down this way, but I was able to easily listen to the BBC World Service on KCRW tonight, streaming beautifully over an old-school EDGE connection. I’d been strongly considering satellite radio for my car, but it doesn’t look like that’ll be necessary now. Sweet.

Definitely my favourite app so far, only to be replaced by WordPress I am sure. Yes its limited here too in the number of stations available on my old school EDGE connection but still a great sound and streams great. I was surprised at first to see this and a few more streaming music apps, especially with them being the competition as it were. But it goes to show Apple is light years ahead in beginning to understand that the end users want what they want and not what is force fed to them. I honestly think I would be more inclined to purchase the music through iTunes versus AOL just because I can easily sync with one click rather than two or three, lazy man that I am ;) But really its a win for both companies as I am sure there are just as many use AO: fr music purchases as well. Kudos to the developers of this!
