@Matt –
I do too, I meant to say something like “when I’m accosted on the street to be preached at”, which is itself disrespectful. Nonetheless, I intend to be respectful in those situations, despite failing.

Thats sounding like excuses to get out of jury duty.
I just do not think some ones sexual orientation is reason enough to kill them.
I also think using the excuse of your religious beliefs not to hear a case like this one only says you OK the murderer.
I can understand someone being extremely angry upon finding they’ve been “Tricked” by a transexual.
couldn’t they have just dropped them off on the side of the road and left them to walk home?

Adam: I don’t see the point in that. I might disagree with everything you believe, but I still believe you deserve respect unless you’ve proved otherwise. I don’t want to be disrespected because someone disagrees with my sexual orientation, race, religious beliefs or college football affiliation. Respect works both ways.

I’m a christian, and that makes me vomit in my mouth. The world is full of “religious” idiots who don’t know a single thing about the Bible they claim to have faith in.

there are days when i say something disrespectful to a christian who comes up to me on the street. i feel a twang of guilt until the next time i read something like this. it baffles me that people can set aside logic, reason, and compassion, just because their pastor said so.
