I had the exact same problem, when upgrading from 1 Mbps DSL (Gulftel, Orange Beach, Alabama) to Mediacom's 15 Mbps Online Max. Still haven't gotten near the rated speed (getting about half), but I solved the issue of specific sites never loading when I remembered to set up OpenDNS by putting in their DNS servers into the connection settings. Make sure you have your ISP's recommended DNS servers everyone! Or use OpenDNS, it has cool features, lets me monitor my network, and is faster than my old ISP's servers were. Crazy.
