Karl Rove says McCain lies too much

“In case anyone was still wondering whether John McCain is running the sleaziest, most dishonest campaign in history, today Karl Rove—the man who held the previous record—said McCain’s ads have gone too far.”

Heart to McCain/Palin: Back off on ‘Barracuda’

“Sarah Palin’s views and values in NO WAY represent us as American women. We ask that our song ‘Barracuda’ no longer be used to promote her image. The song ‘Barracuda’ was written in the late 70s as a scathing rant against the soulless, corporate nature of the music business, particularly for women. (The ‘barracuda’ represented the business.) While Heart did not and would not authorize the use of their song at the RNC, there’s irony in Republican strategists’ choice to make use of it there.”

Ouch.

This is just entirely too rich—Republicans Mike Murphy and Peggy Noonan were on MSNBC discussing the Palin VP pick with Chuck Todd, and inadvertantly got caught telling the truth about the nominee. This gem from Noonan:

The most qualified? No! I think they went for this—excuse me—political bullshit about narratives … Every time the Republicans do that, because that’s not where they live and it’s not what they’re good at, they blow it.

Talking Points Memo provides the full transcript. I want to make Peggy Noonan saying “It’s over” my ringtone.

Hookup on Manhunt? Support John McCain? If you do either, you’re getting screwed by the guy you’re giving your money to. If you do both, you’re screwing yourself.

Obama’s Berlin poster is causing consternation on the right wing because they see its nod to Bauhaus design as “arrogant.” Granted, Obama can’t get out of bed these days without being called arrogant, but it’s interesting that the Republicans are now equating taste and design with arrogance and liberalism. Makes me pretty proud to be an arrogant graphic designing liberal.
