Despite the fun I’ve had learning about other Matt Thomases in the world, every now and then the results are just plain frightening. The amount of time I spent trying to decide whether that was a doll or just a very small, scary baby is ridiculous. Staff of Timberview Christian Fellowship, you creep me out.

Yes…which begs the (I think) obvious question: Why did this woman sit for a portrait with a toy baby?
The baby is real, the woman isnt :P

The site you indicated is so weird. I was considering of using as a good example of bad design on my blog when after visiting the home page I noticed … no links into the staff page …
... and yes, the 1 week old premie is also freaking me out.
On second thought … it’s probably the little girl’s doll … a proxy for “are preparing for their second child this fall” ... egad, I’m going back to bed and pretend I didn’t see this …
... though those eyes, they … keep … following me … everywhere.

Trainer baby or not, who the hell sits for a portrait with one? Maybe this is some weird fundamentalist christian thing that I’m just not hip to.
I had to look up what ajax was, but thanks; I’m glad to know that I’m using it.
As an aside, it’s sites like this that really makes me furious that schools can sell “masters of ministry” degrees. Jesus Christ, I worked my ass off for a B.F.A., a degree that no one takes seriously anyway. I guess it’s nice to know that I can always go get my Masters in voo doo magic, and then act as though I’ve actually accomplished something.
This is also the reason that I absolutely can not refer to someone who’s received their “Doctorate in ministry” as “Doctor.” You’re not a doctor. You’re a preacher. That’s all I’m giving you credit for. If you want to be called doctor, go get an education in something that will help someone.
